The Pips are in.

The pips are in and I have to say, they’re looking as good as I’d ever dreamed. We got  a stroke of luck and I was able to get them done quicker than expected. There were a couple changes from the prototype. Most of the people who tried the prototype noted the spike in the cup should be a bit sharper to aid matador style tricks and we noticed some galling on the bearing seat so we fixed those issues. The blast is also a little more aggressive this time around to make your grinds last that much longer. Finally, we shortened the bearing seat so it’d accept a slim bearing for responsive play.

We’re not done yet though. They’re in and they’re fantastic but there’s still work to be done. We have some goodies to put in the box like stickers, badges and parts for responsive play. This is likely to take another 2 or 3 weeks to arrive but we’ll let you know when they do. Then I’ll start the process of boxing them up and make sure they all go out on the same day. They shouldn’t take too long to arrive once they’ve been shipped. Those that paid for Royal mail Shipping will get a free upgrade to our new courier.

The last announcement for this release is that we have a few left over to sell after all the original orders have theirs (for an increased price, of course) and these amazing YoYo Village special editions will be made available through YoYo Village only (also for an increased price). So don’t worry if you missed out, you’ll get another chance to snag a Pip!

So are you happy with your colour choice? We can’t change it but I’d like to know how you think your colour came out. Drop me a message and let me know, either way.

Jacob Gross cuts a pip in half.

Jacob Gross, owner of G Squared YoYos (Which we love by the way) has finally cut his Pip in half. He left it to the last minute because he loved playing with it so much. Roland says it looks like batman and I completely agree. Click Here to place your order before it’s too late. There’s just about 24 hours left before it’s gone and you won’t get another chance.

No minimum order for the Pip

Yes that’s right! We’ve checked the books and we’re able to proceed with the Pip without hitting the original minimum goal! That means your Pip order is 100% guaranteed to happen. There’s no reason to wait anymore, get one while you can!

Victor Sacchelli Joins Smashing YoYo Company!

Ladies and gentlemen, give a warm welcome to Victor Sacchelli as he joins us at Smashing YoYo Company. Victors incredible tricks and the way he makes them all look effortless are an inspiration to us. Not only is he an amazing player (seriously), he’s a nice guy too! I have no doubt that he’ll fit right in at Smashing and make us all proud. Maybe we’ll even get the chance to make him proud too.

To celebrate this auspicious occasion, our very own Roland Thomas-Biason has created a video to introduce him and his tricks to the world on one of my personal Monocles (Don’t worry, Victor has plenty for himself).

I’m so proud of what our team is achieving. We’ve become more than just a team, we feel more like a family now and it gives me a warm feeling in my gut. Anyway, enough of that. Enjoy the video!
